The Caboolture Sports Dog Obedience Club (originally named Murrumba Dog Obedience Club) was formed in 1979 as an offshoot of the Metropolitan Dog Obedience Club.
Its aim was to provide dog obedience training services to the Caboolture, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe areas and also to conduct Obedience and Agility Trials under
its affiliation with the Canine Control Council (Qld). The Club also helped form the Redcliffe and Pine Rivers Dog Obedience Clubs.
In 1994 the Club joined with the local Cricket, Soccer, Rugby Union, Touch Football and Softball Clubs to form the Caboolture Sports Club Inc. to provide long-term financial security for all Clubs.
The Caboolture Sports Club Inc has since grown to be one of the largest and most popular Clubs in the area.
The Club provides dog obedience training to members of the public. It also conducts obedience and agility demonstrations free of charge at local
events such as school fetes and the Caboolture Pet Fair, as and when requested.
They consist of a selected group of handlers and their dogs from our training classes and they enable the Club to promote responsible dog ownership,
the advantages of a trained dog and the various activities that can be enjoyed by owners and their dogs.
The Caboolture Sports Dog Obedience Club is at present one of the most successful Clubs in the South East Queensland region in formal Obedience and Agility Trials.
It is the current holder of the prestigious Norm Claridge Shield that is presented annually to the top trialling club in S E Qld.
